Just had to share this wonderful music by the talented Space Fractal
Jim Bagley attended the event, and I am pleased to say that he mentioned Warhawk a few times. A mention from the wonderful Jim makes me a very happy man 🙂
From 42 minutes in, and for the next 10 mins 🙂
So, some progression on Warhawk…
Decided the best plan was to grab my attack wave code and bullet code from the DS version and convert to z80, and it worked a treat!
The game will have 20 levels. The odd numbered levels contain a mini boss (similar to the original games end of level boss) and the even levels contain a nasty big boss.
SFX are in, and 95% of code is done.
This will be a launch title for the Next. As yet unsure if it will be with the machine, or a free download.
Had a little play with Z80 code, it’s been a long time……
Still, shooting, scrolling, detection, etc. All working (mostly). Quite a fun little diversion. It’s a little lacking in tiles at the moment though, just using 64 tiles for quickness, though may switch to the original tiles later.
Decided that the credit screen should also pay homage to a retro great. So, the credit screen in Manic Maker is based on the highscore/credit screen used in the wonderful Bounty Bob Strikes Back.
Manic Maker now not only has support for the VIC-20’s odd pixel aspect, but also for an oft forgotten game – The Perils of Willy.
A wonderful game and is improved in our version.
Have been playing with the Mr. Robot engine. Looks so great using some of the many special retro effects. Well, they all look great of course. The main thing is that Manic Maker now replicates the Commodore 64's standard graphic modes enabling the main colours along with their relevent multicolour settings.
8 years ago the coding fingers were busy with the team creating this renowned Nintendo DS game.
Where has all that time gone? Personally, I do feel it is in need of a shiny PC remake…
Anyway, this video was an early peek at the gameplay.
Just for the fun of it, Mr. Robot and his Robot Factory is re-enabled in the lastest Manic Makers Beta Build.
One day this will be released, but for those without access to the beta – here’s a little picture.
